The Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme supports
exceptional scholars devoting their studies and professional careers to
international development or environmental management and conservation.
These studies encompass a number of subjects offered within the
University’s School of Geography and the Environment and Department of
International Development. The scheme targets exceptional individuals
from the transition and emerging economies of Europe’s wider
neighbourhood including Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the
Caucasus, Russia and Central Asia, as well as North Africa and the
Middle East.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants should be intending to return to your country of ordinary
residence once your course is completed. Students currently at Oxford
are not eligible to apply unless they are already Weidenfeld scholars.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a connection between your
subject of study and your longer-term career objectives, explaining how
you see your professional work contributing to the improvement of public
life in your country of origin or at a wider regional or international
level.
Field of study Eligible to apply:
Scholarships are provided in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management,
Development Studies, Economics for Development, Environmental Change and
Management, Geography and the Environment, Global Governance and
Diplomacy, International Development, Migration Studies, Nature, Society
and Environmental Governance, Refugee and Forced Migration Studies and
Water Science.
